Documents shouldn't need a round trip

PDFine started with a small frustration: rotating one page of a contract meant handing that contract to a stranger's server. For a task that takes a fraction of a second, that felt like a bad trade.

Modern browsers can do the work themselves. So we rebuilt the everyday PDF toolkit — merging, splitting, compressing, converting to and from images, text, markup and data formats, and tagging files as PDF/A, PDF/E or PDF/X — as code that runs entirely inside your tab. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored, nothing is scanned.

We're a small independent team. We keep the interface quiet, the defaults sensible and the feature list honest: when something genuinely needs a server, such as OCR or certificate-based signing, we say so instead of pretending otherwise.
